TERMS OF AGREEMENT FOR BOARDERS AND HOSTELERS
The agreement is between the student (YOU) and the owner of the lodging the for boarding period of one college year (8 months) for co leasing in the parish of Kingston.
1. Whereas AIM UNIVERSITY GROUP acts only as Agents in the facilitation of boarding for the students seeking to live on-campus in Kingston. The Boarding Facility is organised and managed through a private company.
2. Whereas the boarder is required to pay the amount of $130,000 for private boarding offered in Halfway Tree, Kingston, Jamaica. This covers room and board, light, and water only for one academic year. This amount is paid in full or per semester, that is, two payments of $65,000. An academic year has TWO semesters. Semesters are: September 3 - December 1; January 3 - April 1; and May 3 - August 1
3. Whereas the boarder is fully responsible for the upkeep of the boarding premises and all materials and equipment rented during the period.
4. Whereas the boarder is fully responsible to restore to the original conditional, any item that is rented for use and fallen into disrepair.
5. Whereas the boarder is fully responsible to make a cash payment to the Landlord to the full amount of the cost of replacing an item that is irrecoverable beyond repair.
6. Whereas the boarder must conform to all hours and norms of the Landlord. For the security and well-being of all, the boarding facility closes at 11:00 PM during the week (Sundays to Thursdays) and 12:00 AM on weekends (Fridays And Saturdays). All boarders are required to be in their dorm rooms and not outside the boarding rooms or premises after the agreed hours. The gate to the premises is closed at these times.
7. Whereas the boarder must conform to the norms of behavior expected on a campus. No explicit, loud talking, lights on after bedtime, loud music, stealing, use of the utensils, food or clothes of others without their explicit permission, and must clean their personal areas daily, and the general areas such as bathroom, kitchen and wash areas on a planned schedule.
8. Whereas Students must conform to the rules regarding Visitors to the boarding premises. Boarders may accept Visitors (families and friends), but first must register them in the Office. Visitors are NOT allowed in the dorm rooms after assisting the boarder with moving in and may be accommodated only in the general areas of the compound that is designated for visitors. Visiting hours are between 10 AM and 8:00 PM only.
9. Whereas boarding fees must be paid prior to residency.
10. Whereas Boarding Fee is nonrefundable and nontransferable.
11. Whereas AIM University Group nor the Landlord, Maxine Samuels does not accept any form of responsibilities for the security and safety of the boarder after leaving the school compound or failing to conform to the given safety and security measures.
12. Whereas AIM University Group nor the Landlord, Maxine Samuels does not accept any form of responsibilities for the medical care of the boarder, even while we will assist the boarder to seek emergency medical attention at private or public health centres in the Halfway Tree environs of the College.
13. Whereas all cost associated with medical care and transportation of the boarder must be borne exclusively by the boarder.
